EU low-value parcels: the 2026 change
Sources reviewed: 31.10.2026
Do not automatically apply the old ‘no duty below €150’ assumption.
Commission guidance states that from 1 July 2026 a temporary €3 customs duty applies to covered low-value imports. Consult the legal text for scope and item definition; multiplying parcel count by three is not sufficient.
This duty is separate from VAT and possible handling fees. IOSS concerns VAT. Use current TARIC and official legislation for the transaction date.
Pre-shipment checklist
- Were import date and scope checked?
- Are VAT, duty and handling fees separate?
- Does item classification follow the legal text?
